Bespoke interior design: how it works with Archade

More and more people in Italy are looking for a way to furnish a home that is neither the do-it-yourself of a generic shop nor the cost (and the timescales) of a traditional architecture practice. This is where bespoke interior design comes in: a service that combines the advice of a professional with the convenience of a project designed specifically for your space, without having to manage everything on your own or spend an amount out of reach. Here is how it works in practice with Archade Design Solutions.

What bespoke interior design really is

Bespoke does not necessarily mean a project drawn entirely from scratch, piece by piece. It means that every choice (layout, style, colours, individual accessories) is calibrated to your real space, your habits and your budget, instead of starting from a standard catalogue or from solutions designed for a generic audience. With Archade this comes in three different forms, so you can choose the one that suits you best:

  • Ready-made packages with 3D renderings: solutions already designed by style and room type, which you can personalise in the details, ideal if you want a quick, coherent result without starting over.
  • Curated shop: furniture selected and organised by style and room, for anyone who wants to put the room together on their own but with the reassurance of choosing from products that already go together.
  • Fully personalised project: a dedicated consultation route, for anyone with specific needs (unusual spaces, renovations, complex rooms) who wants full support.

How the process works, step by step

The typical route with Archade follows four stages:

  1. First enquiry: you describe your space, the style you like (or want to discover) and an indicative budget, through the site or a first direct contact.
  2. Proposal and renderings: based on the information received, a proposal is built, whether a ready-made package adapted to you or a bespoke project, with 3D renderings to show you the result before you buy anything.
  3. Revision and final choice: you can ask for changes to individual elements, materials or colours, until the proposal really reflects what you were looking for.
  4. Order and delivery: once the project is approved, Archade handles the purchase from the suppliers and the shipping directly to your home, in any city in Italy, not just in Bologna, where the office is.

One advantage of this model is that Archade does not work with a warehouse of its own: it buys from a network of selected suppliers only after the project is confirmed. This means more choice (you are not limited to the catalogue of a single shop) and better currency on the styles and materials available.

Interior designer or do-it-yourself: when it is worth getting help

You do not always need a complex project to benefit from advice. Even just rethinking the layout of a room, working out how to combine colours and materials, or avoiding measurement mistakes can make a big difference to the final result, and that is often where a guided project pays for itself, by avoiding the wrong purchases or returns. The advantage of a service like Archade, compared with a traditional interior design practice, is precisely the flexibility: you can start from a ready-made package and personalise it, instead of having to commission an entirely bespoke project from the outset.

A service designed for the whole of Italy, not just for Bologna

Although the registered office of Archade is in Bologna, the service is built to work remotely across the whole country: the consultation, the renderings and the revisions happen online, and the furniture is shipped to any address in Italy. So you do not need to live in Emilia-Romagna to use the service: whether you are in Milan, Rome, Naples or a small town, the route is the same.

A project for every room in the house

Every room has different needs: you do not furnish a living room like a bedroom, nor a small kitchen like a studio flat. That is why Archade also organises the furniture by room, so you can start directly from the space you want to renew and find solutions designed for that specific space.

A recognisable style, from Coastal to Japandi

Beyond the room, the style also counts for a lot: Archade organises the catalogue into themed collections (from Coastal to Industrial, from Japandi to POP) so you can choose by personal taste instead of browsing through pieces that have nothing to do with each other. If you are not yet sure which style represents you, the Find your style quiz on the site is a good starting point.

How to get started

The easiest way to start is to take a look at the shop to get an idea of the styles and products available, or to have a look at the ready-made packages, or else to contact the team directly to tell us about your project and receive a first personalised proposal through the page About us. From there, the rest of the route (renderings, revisions, delivery) is handled together, step by step.
